a Cook EFZ with work-agogic tasks (90 -100%)

We are a special school boarding school recognized by the Canton of St. Gallen. In our facility, 32 children and adolescents live and learn, for whom special schooling and pedagogical support are indicated. Our long-time cook is retiring. We are looking for a Cook EFZ with work-agogic tasks (90 -100%) as of 1 April 2027. You will independently run the kitchen with a kitchen assistant (40%) and cook for approx. 60 people from Monday to Friday. Additionally, in the morning for approx. two hours, you will accompany a female or male student in the kitchen and guide them work-agogically. Your area of responsibility includes: • Preparation of high-quality, regional and seasonal dishes (five lunches and three dinners per week) • Creation of menu plans according to current nutritional science findings • Daily preparation of snack catering • Procurement and storage of goods • Cleaning and maintenance of the kitchen areas • Organization and collaboration during approx. four special events per year • Accompanying female and male students in the morning for 2 hours and during three holiday weeks per year • Budget planning and responsibility • Compliance with legal hygiene regulations • Supervision of the cafeteria These are our expectations • Completed training as a Cook EFZ with professional experience • Additional training in work-agogics or interest in acquiring pedagogical competencies • Joy and skill in the involvement of children and adolescents • Benevolent, respectful and appreciative attitude towards challenging children and adolescents • Cheerful and humorous personality with enthusiasm for cooking • Curiosity regarding the transition to system kitchen • Independent personality with organizational talent and social competence • High flexibility and resilience • Identification with our Christian core values • Team, relationship and conflict competence What you can expect: • a modern, well-equipped kitchen • an interesting field of activity in a manageable institution • a demanding and versatile task • a motivated and experienced team • regular working hours (Monday – Friday) • Annual working time: Overtime during school weeks, possibility of compensation during school holidays Further information will be gladly provided by Daniel Lehmann, Institutionsleiter.
