You will lead a team of auditory performance engineers and functional experts, taking full responsibility for translating cutting-edge algorithmic innovations into measurable end-user benefits and exceptional sound experiences. Working at the intersection of audiology, signal processing, deep learning, and system integration, you will transform strategy into execution, guide innovation from initial concepts to production, and bring together experts from R&D and marketing. More about the position • Assume and drive end-to-end auditory performance of Sonova's algorithmic innovations, ensuring industry-leading end-user benefit and an exceptional sound experience. • Lead, develop, and empower a team of auditory performance engineers, creating clear priorities, strong ownership, and a culture of technical excellence. • Shape new auditory functions, algorithms, and features from ideation and prototyping through to development, verification, and production. • Make evidence-based decisions by leading technical measurements, performance evaluations, and testing, while identifying key performance gaps and differentiation opportunities. • Collaborate closely with signal processing, deep learning, audiological innovation, control software, marketing, and other R&D areas to translate innovation into high-performance products. • Translate strategy and functional roadmaps into clear and achievable team objectives, balancing innovation, user benefit, quality, scalability, resources, and timelines. • Continuously advance development practices, tools, and infrastructure, including the use of AI technologies, while ensuring compliance with R&D processes, quality standards, and regulatory expectations. More about you • Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in electrical engineering, physics, acoustics, biomedical engineering, or a closely related scientific or technical discipline. • At least 5 years of relevant experience in sound processing, engineering, or MedTech R&D, combined with significant experience in senior technical or functional leadership. • Proven experience in managing teams, delivering complex technical projects, and cross-functional collaboration in an international and multi-site environment. • Ability to link scientific and technical expertise to user needs and business priorities. • Strategic and analytical mindset with the confidence required to make decisions, manage trade-offs, and create clarity in complex or uncertain environments. • Collaborative and empowering leadership style, with strong communication skills and a passion for people development, capacity building, and driving technological change. • Fluent English; German as well as experience with medical device regulations, validation frameworks, or data-driven development environments is an advantage.
