P2625 - Data Platform Engineer - Full Stack

• 01 August 2026 • Indefinite duration • Lausanne As our Data Platform Engineer - Full Stack (permanent position / full time / on-site), you will play a key role in transforming data into revolutionary medical solutions. Your mission is to design, build, automate, and maintain Debiopharm's central data platforms, enabling seamless data management, analytics, and statistical calculations across the company. In this high-impact role, you will be responsible for global end-to-end platforms in a GxP environment, developing secure and cloud-native solutions on Azure and AWS. Fully responsible for the security, reliability, and automation of the platforms, you will progressively assume System Owner responsibilities. You will also remain close to the business by acting as the first line of trusted support for daily user needs and level 2 troubleshooting.   Your main responsibilities  ### Software and platform engineering  • Design, write, and deploy production-quality frontend and backend code for automation, integrations, and internal tools (JavaScript/Typescript/Svelte, C#, Python, Go, PowerShell, REST APIs). • CI/CD on Azure DevOps: deployment pipelines, version control, testing, review, deployment, documentation. • Maintain Infrastructure as Code (Terraform / Bicep) as the single source of truth for all our environments. • Design and implement platforms with solid software engineering fundamentals (following standard patterns, security, and clean code - maintainable), to improve operational efficiency and developer productivity (the use of AI assistance for coding is encouraged but always with manual review and human intervention). Clinical data and analytics  • Maintain and support new versions of our central data repository, as well as the data pipelines feeding analytical solutions from Medidata and other clinical sources. • Collaborate with data management, biostatistics, and data science teams to optimize data architecture, data quality, and analytical platform capabilities.   SAS Viya & Medidata Platforms  • Manage SAS Viya 4 on Kubernetes (AKS): automate deployment, updates, and provisioning, and become the technical reference. • Act as system owner and administrator for Medidata: user access, configuration, versions, and coordination with vendors. • Maintain both platforms available, high-performing, and qualified, under GxP change control.   Cloud, security, and compliance  • Implement platform observability via monitoring, logging, alerting, and performance management. • Execute cloud workloads securely by default and cost-consciously, strengthening security posture (Defender for Cloud / CNAPP) and FinOps discipline. • Follow applicable SOPs and provide CSV documentation (IQ, OQ, etc.) for the platforms you own, in collaboration with the CSV / GxP function. Your profile ### Education & certifications:  • Bachelor's or Master's in computer science, software engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience. • Cloud certifications (Azure, AWS, CKA/CKAD) are an asset; the willingness to obtain them is expected. Strong experience in Kubernetes/container orchestration is a plus. Technical experience:  • More than 5 years of software engineering (frontend and backend), infrastructure experience to deliver systems in production, clean code, testing, CI/CD (Azure DevOps), and AI-assisted development. • Infrastructure as Code (Terraform / Bicep) and cloud (Azure and/or AWS) with solution design; Kubernetes in production (AKS or EKS) is a major asset. • Databases and data engineering (SQL, data modeling, pipelines) for clinical and analytical data. • Administration of SAS Viya 4 and Medidata (Rave) is a plus, but not a prerequisite: a competent engineer will be able to upskill and take full responsibility. • Exposure to regulated environments / GxP and CSV (documentation, change control, audit trail) is an important asset; experience in pharma or life sciences is welcome.
