Head of Vocational Training

Your tasks ##

• Responsibility for the strategic, organizational, and professional further development of vocational training at PSI. Together with vocational trainers, specialist departments, line managers, as well as internal and external partners, you ensure high-quality and future-oriented training.
• You actively help shape the future orientation of vocational training and drive necessary organizational and structural developments forward. In doing so, you combine strategic foresight with implementation strength and move confidently between conceptual work, leadership, and operational day-to-day business.
• As a leader of a dedicated core team, you simultaneously strengthen the cross-professional community of vocational trainers. You succeed in networking people with different roles and perspectives, winning them over to common goals, and promoting a culture of cooperation and mutual trust.
• You specifically maintain and further develop a broad network within and outside of PSI. In a demanding stakeholder environment, you moderate different interests, create commitment, and develop sustainable solutions.
• You understand and lead vocational training as a total system. In this way, you achieve impact far beyond your direct leadership responsibility and create connections between people, organizational units, and external partners - for the benefit of the learners and PSI.

Your profile ##

• Higher education as well as sound practical experience in vocational training and very good knowledge of the Swiss vocational training system from your own leadership experience
• Several years of experience in the successful leadership and further development of larger teams or complex organizational units, as well as enjoyment in motivating people, promoting talents, and creating a shared identity
• Pronounced strategic and conceptual thinking as well as the ability to recognize development potential early on and derive and implement concrete measures from it
• Experience in complex matrix organizations and a good sense of how to bring different interests together and develop sustainable solutions
• Very good networking in the Swiss vocational training landscape and resilient relationships with schools, associations, authorities, and other relevant actors
• Strong communication and moderation skills as well as a confident appearance, combined with competence, authenticity, and trustworthiness
• Initiative, strong ability to cooperate, and a pragmatic hands-on mentality
• Enthusiasm for the development of young people and the aim to create frameworks in which learners can unfold their potential and start their professional lives with excellent training
