At the Direktion für Bildung, Soziales und Sport, the human being is at the center. Daycare is a voluntary family-supplementary care offering for school children in the city of Bern.

What you move

• Collaboration and responsibility as part of the team in a care group with children aged 4 - 12 in cooperation with the care team
• Promotion of competencies in the non-formal education sector
• Participatory design of the leisure activities
• Maintaining communication with family systems and school actors
• Goal-oriented planning of pedagogical work and constructive cooperation in the team

• Training as Fachperson Kinderbetreuung with eidg. Fähigkeitszeugnis (EFZ)
• Solution-oriented, committed and empathetic personality

Your application process

This is how the application process works with us:

Step 1: Online application

Submit your application documents online via our job portal. In order for us to process your documents further, you must create a login. After you have submitted your application, you will receive a confirmation. We assess each application individually based on the criteria in the job advertisement. This sometimes takes some time. If your application fits, we will contact you for an initial interview.

Step 2: Interviews

In the job interview - by telephone, on-site or online - we want to get to know you. We check whether your expectations for the position align with ours, which experiences and skills you bring, whether our culture appeals to you and how you fit into the team. Depending on mutual interest and the position, several interviews take place. All your questions about the position, the team or the employment conditions are always welcome.

Step 3: Further steps in the process

Depending on the position, we arrange a trial or taster day, give you a professional task, organize a meeting with the team or invite you to an assessment. As a rule, reference inquiries are also part of our application process. You will be transparently informed about all steps in the process.

Step 4: Application decision

Are you convinced by us and we by you? After a verbal acceptance, you will receive a confirmation, the contract documents and information on how it continues until the start of employment. Did it not work out? We are happy if you apply for other exciting positions despite a rejection.
