To strengthen our team in the womenswear area, we are looking for a motivated and committed person as Buyer (m/f/d), 100%, as of 01.10.2026, at the Basel Headquarters location. ##

Your responsibility

• You actively participate in the construction and further development of the product group strategy and align it with the company's financial goals for the next three years.
• You are responsible for the seasonal assortment planning as well as the product selection.
• Together with the Merchandise Planner, you define top-down and bottom-up goals for the product group, margin targets, OTB (Open-to-Buy) as well as the assortment architecture.
• You analyze the competition, conduct market analyses and evaluate customer and consumer needs.
• You identify, select and negotiate with brands and suppliers to ensure competitive prices, minimum order quantities, conditions and exclusivities.
• You build long-term and partnership-based relationships with suppliers and develop these further through regular performance reviews and joint business plans.
• You ensure the correctness of the product data, efficient sample handling as well as compliance with compliance and quality standards.
• Together with the suppliers, you develop marketing cooperations and support the introduction of new products.
• You optimize the productivity of the items (SKUs), the product group segmentation as well as the number of variants.
• You are responsible for the product life cycle planning, including product introductions, assortment continuity and phase-out strategies.
• You define the selling prices as well as promotion concepts taking margin targets into account.
• In close cooperation with the planning team, you develop strategies for price reductions, reorders and the exit from assortments.

Your profile

• You have a Bachelor's degree in business administration, purchasing, merchandising or a comparable field.
• You bring 3 to 5 years of experience in purchasing (buying), ideally in a multi-brand retail environment or department store.
• You possess a strong business understanding as well as sound experience in negotiating with suppliers.
• You have already successfully developed and communicated a clear vision, inspired teams and driven the consistent implementation of strategies.
• You have specific experience in the Swiss retail market.
• You are enthusiastic about womenswear and have a strong sense for products, silhouettes, materials and styling to create an attractive and relevant assortment.
• You have very good English skills as well as good knowledge of German, French or Italian.
