Your tasks

• Management of the Integration & Case Management department with around 50 employees and interns in personal, organizational, technical, and financial respects;
• Active participation in the further development of asylum and refugee matters in the Canton Zug, especially in technical topics, processes, and knowledge management;
• Service-oriented and economically sound management of the department within the framework of legal requirements;
• Responsibility for personal assistance (social counseling) and legally compliant implementation of economic social assistance together with the team leaders and specialists;
• Promotion of the professional integration of refugees and development of innovative approaches for the implementation of effective concepts;
• Planning, steering, and control of smooth business processes as well as ensuring quality;
• Implementation and active co-design of the Cantonal Integration Program (KIP) in the asylum and refugee sector;
• Responsibility for the promotion of social integration including volunteer coordination;
• Maintaining a partnership-based exchange and cooperation within the office and with external partners, both in the Canton Zug and nationally.

Your profile

• University degree in Social Work, Social Sciences, Law, or comparable qualification;
• Sound leadership experience across several hierarchical levels;
• Several years of experience in asylum and refugee matters;
• Knowledge of statutory social assistance (SKOS guidelines);
• Foreign language skills are an advantage;
• Experience in public administration, project management competencies, and knowledge in the promotion and implementation of innovative solutions;
• Strong planning and organizational skills as well as experience in interdisciplinary cooperation and networking.

Your working environment

As Head of Department Integration & Case Management, you will perform a key function in asylum and refugee matters in the Canton Zug. You shape and design the development of integration strategies and the implementation of statutory social assistance. You contribute actively to linguistic, professional, and social integration. The role is situated in the Department of Social Services Asylum (SDA) of the Cantonal Social Office, which is responsible for and shapes the entire asylum and refugee system in the Canton Zug.
