Your future work environment:
Integrated into the Service de la protection et de la sécurité, the Région de défense incendie du Littoral neuchâtelois (RDIL) is the largest firefighter unit in the canton of Neuchâtel. Joining the RDIL means joining a team committed daily to serving the population, where professionals and volunteers unite their skills, their experience and their energy to face often unpredictable situations.

Your mission:
The primary mission is to respond when the population needs you. On a daily basis, you contribute to maintaining a high operational capacity through training, preparation of equipment, training and knowledge of the terrain. You are thus ready to intervene at any time, alone or as part of a team, in very diverse situations. During an intervention, you are notably called upon to:
Provide assistance to people and animals ;
Fight fires and limit their spread ;
Intervene during floods and water-related events ;
Provide assistance during accidents and situations requiring rescue means ;
Intervene in the presence of dangerous substances ;
Deal with the consequences of natural events ;
Ensure initial measures during particular situations or major events ;
Collaborate closely with the police, sanitary services, authorities and other partner organizations.
Beyond the emergency, your action aims for an essential objective: protecting lives, preserving the integrity of people and animals, limiting damage to the environment and safeguarding property, while contributing to the return to a normal situation. Each intervention is different. What remains constant is the necessity to keep calm, analyze the situation quickly, decide and act together.

Your profile:
You have a taste for public service and teamwork. You wish to put your skills at the service of others and are comfortable in situations that require commitment, composure and capacity for adaptation. You are:
Holder of a federal professional firefighter certificate or willing to undertake this training ;
In good physical condition and ready to maintain your operational capacities ;
Capable of working in a team and integrating into a collective ;
Resistant to stress and able to maintain your control in demanding situations ;
Possessing a good spirit of analysis, decision and synthesis ;
Available to work according to irregular schedules, notably within the framework of continuous 24-hour services ;
Residing in Switzerland within the perimeter defined by the applicable communal decree or willing to settle there ;
Beneficiary of a clean criminal record.
Beyond diplomas and technical skills, we are primarily looking for reliable, committed, curious people capable of contributing positively to the life of a team.
