With around 6'350 inhabitants, Mellingen is a growing town in the Canton of Aargau. It combines a medieval cityscape of national importance with modern infrastructure, a location close to nature and excellent transport connections. The Regional Civil Registry Office provides services for the town of Mellingen and ten other municipalities, with a total of around 36'000 inhabitants.

We are looking for a committed, service-oriented and responsible personality as of 1 January 2027 or by agreement as

Civil Registrar
with prospect of deputy head of office (80 – 100 %)

Your tasks

• Independent processing of all areas of responsibility in civil status matters, such as advising customers, certifying events such as birth, recognition, marriage, death, name declaration, naturalization, court and administrative decisions
• Designing and conducting wedding ceremonies
• Creating documents from Infostar and paper registers
• Organization of funerals and advising relatives
• Supporting the head of office in the professional and organizational leadership as well as the further development of the Civil and Funeral Office
• Carrying out general administrative and organizational work

Your profile

• Commercial training
• Federal Diploma of Higher Education for Civil Registrars or the willingness to acquire the diploma
• Ideally several years of professional experience in civil status matters
• Good IT user skills (Infostar NG, MS Office)
• Precise and independent way of working, empathy and resilience
• Ability to work in a team, flexibility and enjoyment of customer contact
• Foreign language skills are an advantage
• Driver's license category B desired
