The function is largely performed in the home office.

Exciting tasks await:

• Decision-making regarding the fixed-term appointment to office and regarding the removal from office of judges
• Decision-making regarding complaints against disciplinary decisions of the supervisory commission and regarding other disciplinary cases
• Assessment of complaints against decisions of the Obergericht concerning motions for recusal
• Assessment of complaints against decisions of the Justizleitung and complaints due to denial of justice or delay of justice by the Justizleitung
• Assessment of complaints against decisions on severance pay

What you bring:

• University degree in law (lic. iur. or Master)
• Many years of professional experience, preferably as a judge and/or in an academic teaching function
• Mature personality
• Impeccable reputation and high personal integrity
• Readiness to undergo the evaluation process by the Grossrätliche Kommission für Justiz

Your working environment

The Justizgericht exercises supreme supervision over judges in the Canton Aargau. It consists of three judges and three substitute members. As of 1 October 2026 (or by arrangement), a new substitute member is being sought.

The election is made by the Grossen Rat upon motion of the Kommission für Justiz.
