November 2026 or by arrangement The Federal Institute of Metrology METAS is the reference institute for measurements and measuring instruments in Switzerland. To ensure that a liter is always a liter (e.g. when refueling), METAS carries out calibrations, conformity assessments and consultations for business, research and administration. Measurement accuracy creates trust, especially at a societal and political level, and is essential in many areas: in road traffic, electricity billing, time transfer, measurements in the environmental and health sectors, etc. At METAS, various specialist fields meet and complement each other – and this has been the case since 1862. The Personnel department of METAS supports and accompanies the approximately 270 employees in an appreciative and competent manner through the entire HR lifecycle: from recruitment to entry to exit. To strengthen our small, motivated HR team, we are looking for an experienced HR Generalist. Your tasks Competent advice and support for line managers as well as employees in all personnel-related issues Independent responsibility for an assigned area: from recruitment to the administrative processing of entries and exits to advice in conflict situations As the vocational training officer, you are the contact person for vocational trainers and apprentices and coordinate all apprenticeship and internship relationships at METAS Ensuring correct and consistent implementation of absence management within the area of responsibility Active participation in digitalization projects and the further development of HR processes Your profile Completed commercial training with further training in the field of HR (HR Fachausweis or comparable qualification), supplemented by several years of professional experience in a comparable function as well as completed vocational trainer course Sound knowledge in typical HR task areas (labor law, social insurance, consulting competence), ideally supplemented with basic knowledge in payroll management High level of initiative and independence as well as a proactive, solution- and goal-oriented way of working with a strong awareness of quality and efficiency Proficient use of MS Office, SAP and common HR tools You communicate confidently in an official language (German or ösisch) and have very good knowledge of a second official language (B1-B2), supplemented by good English skills We offer A varied and responsible activity in an exciting company with short decision-making paths and an open corporate culture.
