For one of our clients located in Valais, we are looking for an ICUS in the Operating Room. Unit Nurse Manager (ICUS) – Operating room Reporting lines ------------------------- • Under the responsibility of the Director of Care or the Head of the perioperative department. • Supervises nursing teams and operating room staff. --- Main mission ================== Guarantee the organization, coordination, quality, and safety of operating room activities. Ensure the management of teams, optimization of human and material resources, as well as compliance with institutional, legal, and professional standards applicable in Switzerland. --- Main responsibilities =========================== Management and leadership ------------------------ • Supervise, support, and evaluate operating room staff. • Organize schedules and ensure efficient management of staff. • Foster a collaborative and respectful working climate. • Participate in the recruitment, integration, and development of employees. • Conduct annual evaluation and development interviews. Operational management of the operating room ----------------------------------------- • Plan and coordinate surgical programs in collaboration with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and managers. • Guarantee the fluidity of the patient journey in the operating room. • Ensure the availability of human and material resources. • Participate in the management of emergency situations and unforeseen events. Quality and safety of care ----------------------------- • Ensure the application of good professional practices and institutional protocols. • Guarantee compliance with hygiene, asepsis, and safety rules. • Supervise risk management and the analysis of adverse events. • Ensure the monitoring of quality and safety indicators. • Participate in continuous improvement processes. Resource management ---------------------- • Ensure the monitoring of needs for equipment and medical devices. • Participate in the preparation and monitoring of the operating room budget. • Optimize the use of equipment and infrastructure. Training and professional development ---------------------------------------- • Identify the training needs of the teams. • Organize the supervision of new employees, students, and interns. • Promote the updating of knowledge and the development of specialized skills. Interprofessional collaboration ---------------------------------- • Collaborate closely with doctors, anesthesiologists, hospitalization services, sterilization, and support services. • Participate in institutional working groups and cross-functional projects. • Represent the unit in the relevant governance bodies. --- Profile sought ================ Education --------- • HES Bachelor in nursing or a title deemed equivalent recognized by the Swiss Red Cross. • EPD ES diploma in perioperative care (instrumentation) or recognized specialized training. • Training in management or CAS in health services management desired. Experience ---------- • Minimum 5 years of experience in the operating room. • Confirmed experience in team coordination or a supervisory role. • Good knowledge of the functioning of a multidisciplinary operating room. Technical skills ---------------------- • Mastery of perioperative processes. • Knowledge of Swiss legislation regarding health and safety. • Mastery of hospital IT tools. • Knowledge of quality processes and risk management.
