The Transitional Housing department comprises various housing offers for young adults, individuals, couples and families, as well as an emergency shelter for families. As Head of Department, you bear the overall technical, personnel, organizational and financial responsibility for the department. You lead and develop the employees and, together with them, ensure that our offers are professionally convincing, function well and are oriented towards the needs of the people.

With around 2400 employees, the Social Department of the City of Zürich commits itself daily to a social Zürich. And we contribute to a high quality of life in the neighborhoods.

Tasks

• You assume the overall technical, personnel and financial responsibility for the Transitional Housing department and further develop the diverse offers together with your team.
• You ensure a high quality of services and are responsible for the areas of security, organization as well as the sustainable and efficient use of the available resources.
• You initiate, lead and accompany projects within the department and actively contribute your expertise to cross-departmental projects of the business division.
• You represent the department competently towards internal as well as external partners, maintain existing networks and continuously expand sustainable relationships in the social space.
• As a member of the division management body, you actively help shape the strategic and technical direction of the business division and make an important contribution to the further development of the business division.

Profile

• Degree at university of applied sciences or university level in the social sector as well as leadership training and knowledge/experience in the field of psychiatry are an advantage
• Leadership experience and enthusiasm for the further development of employees, the existing offers as well as the entire organization
• Experience in project management and the design of change processes
• Analysis of demanding situations as well as making well-founded and comprehensible decisions
• Appreciative and clear communication towards different stakeholder groups
• Networked thinking and acting to promote cooperation across department and division boundaries
• Understanding of social as well as political contexts and their impact on the strategic further development of the offers
