Administrative Clerk Inpatient

Bern, 50% *The Neuro medical division is one of three strategic focus areas in the Insel Gruppe and includes the specialties of neurology, neurosurgery, and neuroradiology. With nearly 570 full-time positions, approximately 5'300 inpatient patients and approximately 72'000 outpatient visits are cared for annually. In this responsible and versatile function, you contribute significantly to efficient, patient-oriented care in the Neuro medical division. You work hand in hand with doctors as well as nursing staff and are the first contact for inpatient patients.* What awaits you ## • At the central base of the Neuro inpatient ward, you are the first point of contact for patients, relatives, and external partners - friendly, competent, and reliable • You take on diverse administrative tasks such as maintaining patient data, processing inquiries, and document management • In addition to general administrative work, you assist with clarifications regarding insurance questions, cost coverage, and billing of services • You relieve the medical staff and nursing staff in daily administrative tasks and thereby make an important contribution to smooth ward operations • You work interdisciplinary and have the opportunity to actively contribute to the optimization of processes and the further development of the ward secretariat What you bring with you ## • Completed training in the nursing or medical field (e.g., Fachfrau/-mann Gesundheit) or basic commercial training in a hospital environment - ideally with several years of professional experience in a comparable function • Enjoyment of direct patient contact and a service-oriented, courteous personality • Ability to remain calm even in hectic situations, set priorities correctly, and maintain an overview • Teamwork skills, openness, and empathy in interdisciplinary cooperation • Very good German language skills in speaking and writing; knowledge of another language (English or French) is an advantage Our offer ## • A meaningful, versatile, and responsible activity in a central interface function of the Neuro medical division • An interesting and varied working environment with regular working hours on weekdays • The opportunity to actively contribute to efficient and high-quality patient care • Integration into a motivated, interprofessional team that values cooperation, respect, and mutual support • A working environment in which you can contribute and further develop your professional and personal qualities.  Job Information ## Location Inselspital, Universitätsspital Organization Medizinbereich Neuro Workload 50% Start Date per 01.09.2026 or by arrangement Reference Number 19479 Contract Type temporary, until 28.02.2027, with option for extension Place of Work Inselspital, Universitätsspital Bern Freiburgstrasse, CH-3010 Bern Switzerland
