The Real Estate department is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and management of the infrastructure of Empa. Furthermore, it is the joint client representative body of three research institutions of the ETH area. As a staff position with functional and leadership responsibility, you are the central contact person for organizational development and digitalization - for all three line areas Construction & Projects, Technology & Operations, as well as Management & Services, and at a higher level for the department as a whole. In addition, you provide functional and personnel leadership to a small team. Your tasks You identify and implement strategies for organizational development and digitalization and lead and coordinate associated IT and Business Development projects while complying with quality, schedule, and cost targets. You evaluate and implement new technologies and solutions for process optimization and, in doing so, provide functional and personnel leadership to a small team (2-3 employees) in the areas of application management and data management. In cooperation with department and division managers, you help develop digitalization strategies and help shape the "Empa Real Estate Strategy" in the areas of Business Development and IT. You analyze existing and newly incoming requirements from the Confederation, ETH Council, and KBOB regarding the digitalization of real estate management and develop concepts from these to optimize and digitalize administrative processes and services for employees and internal customers. Additionally, you advise and train employees in the use of new technologies and support the executive management with reports and presentations. Your profile You have a completed degree in business informatics, business administration, or a related field; additional qualifications in the field of Business Development or IT management are an advantage. You bring several years of professional experience in Business Development, ideally in the real estate industry or the public sector, as well as proven experience in leading and conducting IT and digitalization projects. Experience in the functional and personnel leadership of employees is an advantage. You are knowledgeable in project management and are proficient in using agile methods and tools. Strong analytical and strategic thinking as well as a high affinity for digital technologies and innovations characterize you, as well as a team- and solution-oriented way of working. You communicate confidently in German and have very good English skills in speaking and writing.
