Learn more about UZH as an employer! ### Tasks In this newly created function, you will support the further development of the leadership, prioritization, and coordination processes of Global Affairs. You will support the department management in aligning mandates, projects, and resources along the established priorities and ensuring their coordinated and effective implementation. The function creates transparency regarding ongoing activities, supports prioritization decisions, and ensures reliable working and implementation standards within the department. Your tasks include, in particular: • Ensuring an overview of mandates, projects, interfaces, and resource requirements within the department • Preparation of decision-making bases regarding priorities, capacities, and resource use in close coordination with the management and deputy management of Global Affairs • Coordination of the project pool along the defined priorities and available capacities • Building, further developing, and anchoring standards for planning, reporting, follow-ups, and project implementation • Co-responsibility for the management of selected operational and project-related areas, including line responsibility for defined parts of the department structure • Co-responsibility for the further development of leadership routines, coordination mechanisms, and resource management within Global Affairs • Supporting the effective implementation of recurring activities, from project work to cross-departmental initiatives in a complex and dynamic organizational environment Profile We are looking for an experienced specialist with strong judgment, very good organizational skills, and high confidence in dealing with complex and dynamic work contexts. You maintain an overview even with many parallel topics and can switch confidently between strategic issues, coordination tasks, and operational implementation. Furthermore, a structured and reliable way of working as well as the ability to create clarity where priorities, processes, and expectations must be further developed and aligned across a broad portfolio are required. Ideally, you bring: • several years of professional experience in a function as Head of Operations / Staff Management, Operations Lead, in program management, in organizational development, or in a comparable management-oriented support or steering function • sound experience in portfolio overview, prioritization, resource management, and the coordination of several parallel workstreams • strong competencies in project, process, and implementation management, combined with the ability to introduce and sustainably anchor practical standards and routines • experience in line management and confidence in dealing with complexity, changing requirements, and organizational change • very good judgment and a sense of timing, especially regarding the question of which topics can be worked on directly and where coordination is required • very good English skills as well as the ability to interact professionally with internal and external stakeholders on various levels • ideally experience in universities, the public sector, or similarly complex institutional contexts Personally, you convince through pragmatism, assertiveness, resilience, and high reliability.
