The BÂLE HOTELS GROUP unites six hotels and two conference centers under one roof, which stand for hospitality, highest comfort, and passion for gastronomy. These include the Hotel Pullman Basel Europe, the Hotel Victoria, the Hotel Basler-tor, and the Boutique-Hotel Märthof in Basel, the Hotel Savoy in Bern, the Holiday Inn Express in Oftringen, the Coop Tagungszentrum in Muttenz, as well as the Hôtel du Léman centre de séminaire in Jongny. Together they create unique experiences for travelers, conference guests, and connoisseurs.

The charming, stylish boutique hotel "Märthof" at Markplatz with 68 unique rooms was opened in July 2021, in a prime location in the heart of the historic old town of Basel with a view of the Markplatz. The lively "Brasserie Bohemia" with boulevard café directly on the Markplatz, first-class event opportunities for up to 40 people, and a panoramic roof terrace for our hotel guests testify to the diversity of the house, quite in line with our motto "Savoir vivre im Herzen von Basel".

Tasks

• Preparation of cocktails, spirits, and classic bar drinks
• Warm, professional care of our bar guests as well as recommendations regarding the beverage selection
• Active and attentive sales to guests
• Handling of complaints in consultation with the department head
• Preparation of the mise en place
• Training of new employees at the bar
• Support of the service team in the restaurant area as needed
• Compliance with service standards and hygiene guidelines

Requirements

• Successfully completed training in the hotel industry, further training as a barista desirable
• Initial experience in a similar position, ideally at a hotel bar
• Motivated, communicative, and cheerful personality with a flair for languages: business fluent German and English, good French skills. Any additional language is an advantage
• Interest in current bar trends, creativity, enthusiasm for cocktails and drinks
• Readiness to work on weekends, public holidays, and in the evening
• Commitment, friendly appearance, and high service orientation
• Willingness to perform, flexibility, and organized way of working
