The Regionalgefängnis Burgdorf is the most modern prison in the Canton of Bern and stands for a secure, structured, and responsible enforcement of various types of detention. With around 160 inmates and 60 employees, we ensure orderly operations and high security standards daily. We orient ourselves by the motto: "Security today and tomorrow. Your tasks

• You process the orders of the inmates in connection with the internal kiosk, manage their accounts, and post business transactions in the specialist application GINA. In addition, you provide information, manage and maintain inmate dossiers, and process the institution's mail. You ensure structured filing and archiving and manage forms.
• You manage the main cash desk, handle the necessary cash transactions, and ensure the control of the cash balance. You also undertake administrative tasks in the accounts payable and accounts receivable area, participate in the monthly and annual closings including inventory, and manage the assigned bank accounts.
• You process special transactions on behalf of the management, undertake general administrative tasks, and provide support during extraordinary events.

Your profile

• You have a commercial basic education (EFZ) and bring knowledge in accounting.
• You are proficient in using common MS Office programs. Experience with SAP and GINA as well as professional experience in public administration are an advantage.
• You work accurately, reliably, and carefully and have a strong awareness of security. You maintain an overview and set your priorities independently, even with different tasks. You enjoy working in a team, take responsibility for your area of expertise, and are characterized by a binding and professional way of working.
• You communicate stylistically confidently in German, both orally and in writing, and also have good French skills.

About the Amt für Justizvollzug

The Amt für Justizvollzug (AJV) is responsible for the open and closed enforcement of sentences and measures for adults and young people within the Sicherheitsdirektion des Kantons Bern (SID) with around 1000 employees. To fulfill this task, the office has at its disposal four concordat correctional institutions, four Regionalgefängnisse, the Bewachungsstation am Inselspital, the Haftleitstelle, as well as the Bewährungs- und Vollzugsdienste.
