• Translation from German -- occasionally from Italian and English -- into French of texts of various types concerning the different areas of the DDPS
• Revision of texts written or translated into French
• Terminological research
• Use of the translation software STAR Transit (including translation alignment)
• Administrative tasks related to the management of the service

What distinguishes you

• Translator's diploma or university degree, preferably in law, obtained less than 18 months ago
• Excellent command of the two official languages and knowledge of the third official language constitute an advantage
• Excellent general knowledge; interest in security policy and current affairs, particularly in the cyber sector
• Good knowledge of MS-Office products and, possibly, translation software (STAR Transit)
• Rapid assimilation capacity, precision, spirit of collaboration, sense of humor, autonomy, stress resistance and flexibility

The General Secretariat of the DDPS is the actual staff organization of the department. It assists the head of department in his role as a member of the Federal Council and in the management of the DDPS, elaborates the political strategy as well as the directives for the administrative units and supports and monitors their implementation. Furthermore, it provides for planning, controlling and coordination at the department level in the transversal sectors Personnel, Finance, Law and Informatics as well as in the sectors Security Policy and Territory and environment.
