Solution Architect & Senior Azure DevOps Lead for Cloud Data Platform

About the Role
We're hiring an experienced Solution Architect and Senior Azure DevOps Lead to design, build, and operate a secure, highly available cloud data platform that hosts business-critical applications and AI/ML models. You'll own the architecture and automation behind our Azure infrastructure, drive DevOps best practices across a cross-functional engineering team, and make sure the platform holds up to the security and compliance bar expected in a tightly regulated environment.
What You'll Do
• Architect and lead delivery of enterprise cloud data platform hosting critical applications and AI models.
• Design and maintain Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines that automate provisioning of cloud infrastructure.
• Implement and administer Databricks Unity Catalog.
• Own Databricks workspace administration — cluster policies, instance pools, and autoscaling — balancing performance against cloud cost governance.
• Deploy and operate Apache Airflow on Kubernetes (AKS)
• Own the security and compliance posture of the cloud infrastructure, including network security groups, firewalls, and identity and access management.
• Architect secure, scalable, highly available infrastructure for hosting AI models in production.
• Lead, mentor, and grow a cross-functional engineering team, keeping delivery and operations running smoothly.
• Partner with compliance, risk, and business stakeholders to onboard new applications and use cases onto the platform.
What You'll Bring
• 10+ years in cloud engineering, DevOps, or solution architecture, with deep hands-on Azure experience, including time in a senior or lead capacity.
• Proven track record designing and running Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure automation.
• Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes (AKS), Databricks, and Apache Airflow in production.
• Experience implementing data governance / access-control frameworks (e.g., Unity Catalog or equivalent).
• Working knowledge of secrets management (Azure Key Vault, HashiCorp Vault) and core infrastructure security controls (NSGs, firewalls, IAM).
• Experience architecting or hosting AI/ML models on cloud infrastructure.
• Experience leading or mentoring engineers, and working directly with enterprise stakeholders.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Nice to Have
• Experience in a highly regulated industry (financial services, insurance, healthcare, etc.).
• Experience delivering AI/ML use cases for compliance or risk functions (e.g., KYC reviews, risk scoring).
• Experience with data platform architecture and cloud cost optimization.
