Social Worker 60-100 % - individual coaching in the Nip-Basel project

For the innovative Nip-Basel project (Niederschwelliges Integrationsprojekt), we are looking for an additional social worker starting immediately or by arrangement. Regarding the workload: The regular position comprises 60 % (from April 2027). Until March 2027, a maternity cover must additionally be covered. Therefore, the prerequisite is a clear willingness to work up to 100 % if required during this half-year. Please also apply if only 60% is possible, or if only the half-year maternity cover is an option. Mandatory requirement: at least a B.A. in Social Work (M.A. also welcome) as well as several years of experience in the social sector of the Basel region. THE PROJECT Nip-Basel started in 2025 and is initially limited to four years. In case of success, there is the option for a further service contract. The goal is to prevent legal guardianship (Beistandschaften): people are coached and accompanied intensively, person-centered and need-oriented for one year, so that they can live without guardianship and take care of their own concerns - or with the support of other agencies - themselves. The referrals are made exclusively via the KESB Basel-Stadt. People between 18 and 65 years of age who have been reported as at-risk and show a need for protection, but where, from the perspective of the KESB, an attempt with intensive, low-threshold accompaniment is sensible, are referred. A second reason for referral is the replacement of an existing legal guardianship. THE WORK At its core, individual coaching is about administration and finances - which, as is well known, are also connected to all other areas of life. The coachings are thus designed to be as holistic and intensive as the clientele wishes and our framework allows. One year and around 100 hours are available per person, with the option of an extension year with lower intensity (27 hours). Some people need more hours, others fewer. Work is carried out in our consulting rooms at Claraplatz, outreach in Basel-Stadt, as well as online (Blended Counseling). We advise on current questions as promptly and uncomplicatedly as possible - within the framework of working hours. WHAT YOU BRING • Motivation, warmth, and humor • B.A. or M.A. in Social Work • Several years of experience in the social sector of the Basel region • Good knowledge of social insurance and administrative skills • Enjoyment of low-threshold work: Building relationships is central. You engage in individual relationships with a diverse clientele and find the people's own way with them • Willingness to continuously reflect on your own work, working relationships, values, and attitudes, both orally and in writing • Further training in the field of counseling is desirable, but not a must Flexible working hours (annual working time): Even at 60 %, we expect that appointments with clients can fundamentally be offered on four weekdays (individual weeks with three days are possible). Since part of our clientele works, appointments must be possible until approx. 8 pm on at least one weekday (at 80 %, on two weekdays). We mostly do not work from 8 am to 5 pm - this openness is central to the position. A fixed anchor point is the weekly team meeting together with Susanne Keller, the Managing Director. For about six months, we have been working with a hybrid-holocratic model: In addition to clear tasks, areas of responsibility, and decision-making powers of the management, there are defined roles in the team, which are taken over by mutual agreement.
