Main tasks and responsibilities
Your tasks and responsibilities as Head of Building Management Systems (SMB) Unit will be to:
Lead the Building Management Systems (SMB) unit by defining priorities, planning activities, and ensuring the achievement of the department's objectives, in compliance with the values and culture of EPFL.
Ensure the management of human resources, workload, budget, and the unit's resources in order to guarantee efficient and sustainable operation.
Define the evolution strategy for the systems and installations of the field, by anticipating the needs of EPFL's technical infrastructures.

Coordinate the operation, maintenance, and evolution of associated software and infrastructures.

HES engineer or ES technician degree in electricity, computer science, automation, or equivalent training
Proven experience in the development or operation of technical or security supervisions (SCADA) such as PC Vue, Panorama, Control Maestro for example
Good knowledge of Building Automation, Smart Building, mastery of the constituent elements of these systems, architectures, and field communication protocols (BACnet, Modbus, among others)
Good knowledge of IT infrastructures (virtualization, security, containerization, ...)
Good knowledge of security installations such as fire/intrusion, access controls, CCTV
Proven competence in planning (roadmap, life cycle, resources, ...), analyzing, and writing
