On behalf of the municipalities, the cantonal social services office fulfills the task of personal social and addiction assistance and supports people in accessing economic social assistance. To this end, it operates eight regional social services in the regions of the canton. The regional social service Chur/Plessur/Imboden is responsible for ten municipalities with a catchment area of 67,000 people.
Social counseling, addiction assistance and financial support

We are looking for the Chur location as of 1 October 2026 or by arrangement for a

Social Worker 90 % ##

as a substitute during a maternity leave. The position is temporary until 31 March 2027.

Your area of responsibility ###

• Solution- and resource-oriented social counseling for individuals and families
• Accessing social security benefits as well as economic social assistance
• Counseling recognized and provisionally admitted refugees and foreigners regarding linguistic, professional and social integration
• Cooperation with social authorities and specialized specialist centers
• Other versatile, interesting and responsible activities

This is what we wish from you ###

• Completed training as a Social Worker BSc/FH or a degree in a comparable training
• Enjoyment of working with people from different social and/or cultural backgrounds
• Counseling competence as well as specialist knowledge in social assistance law and in the social security sector
• Sociable, resilient, team player, good communicative, organizational and administrative skills
• Ideally good foreign language skills
• Independent and solution-oriented working
