Capacity and Congestion Management Manager (80-100%)

Help maintain electricity in Switzerland

You ensure that the capacity of the Swiss high-voltage grid is used optimally, both in Switzerland and as part of the interconnected European grid. As a driver of capacity and congestion management, you develop solutions that intelligently connect the market and the grid while balancing technical and economic requirements. Your main responsibilities include:

• Leading and developing the capacity and congestion management team while ensuring the sustainable development of the organization, processes, and skills
• Anticipating regulatory, market, and operational changes and deriving future-ready solutions for market, operational, and cross-border planning

Ensuring efficient and robust processes through a holistic understanding of capacity and congestion management across the entire organization, continuous performance monitoring, and constant improvement

• Active contribution to national and European collaboration and representation of Swissgrid's interests to authorities, transmission system operators, and market partners
• Effective management of people and resources through employee development, the creation of a culture based on trust and performance, as well as efficient management of budgets, performance, and risks.

You combine strong analytical and conceptual skills with a confident attitude, negotiation skills, and an operational and strategic mindset. You communicate complex subjects clearly, proactively initiate change, and create a motivating work environment. You also bring the following qualifications and experiences:

• Master's degree in electrical engineering, economics, or natural science discipline, ideally supplemented by additional training in economics
• Six to ten years of relevant professional experience, particularly in electricity trading, power plant management, or grid operations
• In-depth knowledge of national and international energy markets as well as relevant regulatory and legal frameworks
• Advanced knowledge of congestion management and balancing groups as well as operational planning, with a very good understanding of the interaction between the market and grid operation
• Experience in leading an organizational unit or additional training in people management
• Experience in negotiating with international partners and authorities, as well as strong conflict resolution and facilitation skills

Professional proficiency in German and English, as well as advanced skills in French
