The military department executes cantonal tasks anchored in military legislation. It is divided into two specialized areas: "District Command" and "Military Operations". Military operations provide various services mainly with the Glarus district command and the Army Logistics Base (LBA).

We are looking for a

Head of Military Operations 80-100 %

starting from 1 November 2026 or by agreement, workplace Glarus.

Tasks

• Technical and personnel management of military operations with the recovery center and the weapons workshop
• Planning, coordination and supervision of human and operational resources
• Technical, administrative and timely implementation of army service mandates
• Responsibility for material management (collection/return, storage, inventory)
• Responsibility for the handover, takeover and maintenance of military installations
• Coordination of military occupations according to the occupation planning in collaboration with the competent military authorities
• Ensuring client-oriented functioning and service towards members of the army as well as other partner organizations such as civil protection, fire brigade and the cantonal police

Requirements

• Completed basic technical, artisanal or commercial training
• Further training or practical experience in the field of business organization, process management, logistics or similar is an advantage
• Proven management experience in a comparable environment
• Understanding of modern administrative, operational and security processes as well as good user IT skills
• High level of autonomy as well as strong organizational and coordination skills
• Strong service orientation and enjoyment of collaborating with military, civil and external partners as well as flexible hours
• Category B driver's license
