Head of IT Operations & Delivery / Deputy CIO

On exclusive assignment for a large Swiss organization, we are looking for an experienced IT leadership personality. Our client offers a demanding system landscape and a versatile project portfolio. Your digital services are of central importance for the daily operation and further development of the organization.

In this newly created key role, you will lead the operative IT organization with over 200 employees and take over the deputy position of the CIO. You will be given the scope of influence to effectively combine operations and implementation and to achieve visible results together with your managers.

Your challenge

You provide orientation when many demands meet scarce resources. You lead experienced managers, keep operations stable, and ensure that projects turn into reliable results.

• You lead the operative IT organization across several levels, set clear goals, and further develop your managers and their teams.
• You are responsible for reliable IT operations and strengthen service quality and operating processes. You effectively bring ITIL and agile Delivery together in everyday life.
• You translate priorities into a realistically deliverable portfolio, deploy resources in a targeted manner, and make clear decisions together with the specialist departments.
• You bring complex projects to their goal: You coordinate dependencies, resolve blockages, and ensure an orderly handover to operations.
• You gain the trust of demanding stakeholders and create commitment – from the clarification of orders through participation to acceptance and the expected benefit.
• You manage budgets and external partners, further develop architecture and standards, and, together with those responsible for strategy, prepare the takeover of new solutions.

Your qualities and talents

• You have a university degree in computer science, business informatics, business administration, or an equivalent qualification.
• You bring at least ten years of leadership experience across two management levels and have been responsible for a larger IT organization with at least 100 employees as well as budget and critical infrastructure.
• You know the balance between stable operations and complex project delivery. You have already successfully managed extensive portfolios and scarce resources.
• You master ITIL and SAFe from practice. You can merge both approaches and win your team over to their consistent application.
• Knowledge in Cloud Native, DevSecOps, Workbenches, or Managed Services is an advantage.
• You lead with calmness and sovereignty, listen attentively, and make clear decisions. You also create trust even with differing interests and ensure that agreements are kept.
• You enjoy taking on operative responsibility and ensure that commitments turn into reliable results.
• You communicate with stylistic confidence in German and also move confidently in English in everyday professional life.
