Head of Air- / Sea Freight & Projects w/m/d

Your challenges

In this versatile and development-oriented key position, you will take on overall operational responsibility for air and sea freight as well as project forwarding. Together with your team of around 15 employees, you will ensure smooth processes and strategically develop the department. In doing so, you will report directly to the COO and will be particularly responsible for the following tasks:

• Operational leadership and strategic development of the air and sea freight as well as project forwarding departments
• Leadership, coaching, and development of employees
• Management and further development of partner and supplier relationships
• Support and maintenance of key accounts and business partners domestically and abroad
• Active new customer acquisition, creation and calculation of complex offers, and expansion of the project business
• Ensuring economic, timely, and high-quality order processing
• Optimization and further development of processes, workflows, and resource planning
• Responsibility for budget, turnover, and results, as well as regular reporting to the management
• Promotion of a modern, solution-oriented, and motivating corporate culture

Our requirements

To be able to tackle these comprehensive tasks, you ideally bring the following backpack with you:

• Completed forwarding training, supplemented by further training
• Several years of professional experience in a comparable leadership function within air-sea and project forwarding
• Strong customer orientation with enjoyment in customer support and acquisition
• Entrepreneurial thinking combined with negotiation skills
• Process- and solution-oriented way of working with organizational skill and project competence
• You communicate in spoken and written German (C1) and English (C1), French (A2) is an advantage
• Good IT knowledge (esp. TMS, MS Office) with high affinity for numbers and curiosity for new technologies
• Your personality: You are an empathetic, implementation-strong leader with a hands-on mentality. You convince through entrepreneurial thinking, analytical and strategic skills, as well as a confident and trustworthy appearance.
