To strengthen our team in Technical Operations, we are looking for a dedicated Chemist Optimization and Troubleshooting Laboratory Peptide APIs (a) 100% Your tasks • Establishment and commissioning of an optimization and troubleshooting laboratory with future leadership of a team of chemical laboratory technicians • Independent execution and evaluation of experimental investigations on a laboratory scale to optimize central process steps and technologies, including by means of Real Time Analytics (RTA) • SPPS-near process optimization and execution of manual SPPS syntheses • Planning, execution, and optimization of peptide resin cleavages • Optimization of work-up and isolation processes • Execution of sample purifications and deviation investigations (technical and chemical troubleshooting) • Manufacture, characterization, and evaluation of reference materials including identification of relevant impurities • Close cooperation with production for sustainable process stabilization and efficiency increase of manufacturing processes • Structured documentation of work as well as derivation of actionable measures for production operations Your profile • Doctorate in chemistry (ideally organic chemistry) or min. 3 years of professional experience in the chemical/pharmaceutical industry • Knowledge and practical experience in the field of peptide chemistry • Hands-on mentality, independent and structured way of working in a laboratory environment • Ability to independently structure complex issues, derive measures, and act as a specialist contact person in TechOps • Strong problem-solving competence in a GMP-near environment • Very good understanding of chemical processes as well as analytical-conceptual way of thinking • Team-oriented, reliable, and self-responsible way of working with high interface competence • Strong quality and safety awareness • Very good German and English skills in speaking and writing • Advantageous: knowledge in calorimetry, spectroscopy, and chemometrics Our offer • A dynamic and strongly growing work environment with internal development and further training opportunities • Flexible working hours with the possibility for home office and the option to take additional vacation days with a reduced workload • In-house daycare center (KITA) on the Bachem Campus Bubendorf • 60% coverage of pension fund contributions by Bachem AG as well as the possibility for supra-mandatory provision with our elective savings plan • Access to benefit platforms with discounts from external partners • Diverse free sports activities on the Bachem Campus Would you like to drive innovation forward together with us?
