Portfolio Manager

Portfolio Manager Fondation Botnar is a philanthropic foundation based in Basel. It is committed internationally to the well-being of young people. Together with partners from civil society, the public sector, science, and private business, it develops and supports innovative programs and partnerships at the interface of education, sustainable urban development, mental health, and human rights-based digital transformation. To further develop the portfolios in Sub-Saharan Africa and Latin America, we are looking for a committed, internationally experienced, and implementation-strong personality as Portfolio Manager In this function, you will take on a central role for the (further) development and management of portfolios as well as in partnership management. You will accompany programs and partner organizations throughout the entire funding cycle with a view to impact, quality, and learning, and make a significant contribution to the effective implementation of Fondation Botnar's strategy in close collaboration with local, national, and international partners. You bring five to ten years of experience in international program work, supplemented by in-depth practical field experience, ideally in Sub-Saharan Africa or Latin America. You have experience working with young people and an interest in complex social issues. As a team player, you move confidently in intercultural contexts, work in a structured, reliable, and pragmatic way, think in a networked and conceptual manner, and act constructively and solution-oriented even in change processes. A university degree and very good English skills are required; German, Swiss German, and/or Spanish are an advantage. You can expect an unlimited employment contract in an international, meaningful environment with a lot of creative leeway. As part of a committed team with a place of work in Basel, you will be regularly traveling internationally. A valid work permit or citizenship of an EU/EFTA country is required.
