Site Manager Electrical Systems, 80-100 %

Tasks ##

• As a Site Manager, you will lead on-site at the construction site the creation of electrical systems for very complex bus and rail technology projects (costs, deadlines, and quality) with a wide variety of internal and external trades. These include, for example, traction power supply, switch and control technology, overhead lines (VBZ), switchgear, electrical installations of rail technology, video systems, return current and stray current protection measures, locking systems, and gate systems.
• You lead your activities in SIA phases 4 and 5 (tendering and realization) according to private-sector principles, taking into account the municipal framework conditions, usually within the project team of the Tiefbauamt der Stadt Zürich (TAZ) and on behalf of the VBZ Project Manager.
• Additionally, you perform conceptual activities according to defined goals and develop coherent problem solutions (e.g., construction phase planning for large-scale projects). You also take over the transmission of complex and sensitive content.
• The processing, assessment, and awarding of orders and services to third-party companies, as well as cost management (order and invoice control, post-calculation), are also part of your area of responsibility, as well as the responsibility for project and product documentation (including change documentation).
• You enjoy quality acceptance according to internal VBZ guidelines of the SIA, the creation of QS documentation, as well as the creation of the basis for construction execution and material procurement and the organization of all components required for construction.
• You independently lead overhead line projects on our VBZ network for trolleybus and tram.
• You provide valuable strategic leadership support to the Team Leader and Head of Realization in all matters of the Realization department.

What is also included:
Conducting difficult internal and external negotiations.
The willingness for special assignments in the event of widespread disruptions or special events and individual assignments at night and on weekends.

Profile ##

• You have a completed apprenticeship in the electrical industry.
• You completed your further education with a Bachelor in Electrical Engineering FH.
• Additionally, you can demonstrate a Master in Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.
• Ideally, you have a Higher Federal Examination (Diploma) as a Site Manager or a diploma in HF Electrical Engineering/Control Technology.
• Knowledge of Swiss law (construction industry) and in-depth specialist knowledge in the field of rail technology are required.
• Ideally, you also bring in-depth knowledge in the management and realization of projects for electrical systems in an industrial environment, ideally of rail systems.
• We expect experience in project team leadership and site management from you.
• High personal responsibility and performance orientation, healthy resilience, and flexibility are required.

Great, then we are happy to make you a fair salary offer, which lies between CHF 105-000.00 and 135-000.00 annual salary (100% workload). Often we are also interested in applications from talents who do not yet meet all the requirements or, on the other hand, bring an above-average amount of knowledge and experience. In such cases, starting salaries slightly below or above this range are also possible.
