Jet Mechanic / Automation Technician Air Force

This is the contribution you can make • After a gradual introduction and training, take on a central role in the operation of our fighter jets • Repair, maintain and service F/A-18 - with later specialization on the most modern fighter jet generation F-35 • Check and maintain engines as well as safety-relevant systems - from engine changes to stationary and test runs to inspections of cable arrestor systems • Hand over jets directly to pilots and take them back after the flight • Occasionally take on special tasks - for example during training abroad, in flight accident standby, at major events such as the WEF or in the plant fire brigade What makes you unique • Technical vocational training (e.g. Automation Technician, Polymechanic, Agricultural Machinery Mechanic, Motor Equipment Mechanic, Automotive Mechatronics Technician or similar) • Fascination for aviation - aircraft experience is not a must • Enjoyment of teamwork in our well-coordinated small team as well as reliability and analytical thinking • Readiness for technical support of training abroad (2 x 2-3 weeks per year) as well as occasional standby or night work (seasonal and individual weeks per year) • Swiss citizenship and an impeccable certificate of good conduct (personal security screening) What we offer • Working for Switzerland We are committed to the success model of Switzerland and work for the benefit of the population. • Lived diversity Thanks to equal opportunity, we develop our competencies and bring in different perspectives. • Healthy at the workplace We support and advise our employees in the area of physical and mental health. Your commitment to security and freedom The Operations Command (Kdo Op) is responsible for all military operations and deployments of the Swiss Army. The Kdo Op includes, among others, the Air Force, the Army, the four territorial divisions, the SWISSINT Competence Center, the Special Forces Command, and the Military Police. Around 40 % of the approx. 2'500 employees are civil employees - from engineers to aircraft mechanics to analysts. The Swiss Army employs over 9'000 employees in four military and around 200 civil professions - and this at 110 locations throughout Switzerland. Provision is also made for new talent: The Swiss Army trains apprentices in over 30 professions.
