Senior Software Engineer The following expects you A sympathetic cross-functional product team with hands-on team lead, product manager and several T-shaped full-stack engineers who take joint responsibility. You work in variations of Scrum or Kanban. Engineers also roll up their sleeves in refinement and actively contribute to architecture and product issues. A lot of creative leeway and the opportunity to actively shape high code quality in the team and across team boundaries. Enough legacy, complexity and grown structures to really move something with a good portion of resilience and improve systems step by step. What you bring We match if you: Have long-standing, in-depth experience in modern, product-oriented software engineering (preferably with Java) and have already worked on complex, distributed systems - ideally in e-commerce or comparable domains. Not only theoretically know modern engineering practices, but have lived them in everyday life, for example in the areas of CI/CD, automated testing, decoupling, code reviews and observability. Do not see concepts like DDD, Clean Architecture, Event-Driven Architecture, SOLID, Feature Flags or Dependency Injection as buzzwords, but as tools that you use sensibly and pragmatically. Are a strong advocate of "You build it, you own it" and have experience in environments where releases are made several times a day. Like to share your knowledge, enjoy pair programming, whiteboard sessions and code reviews, and help to further develop the engineering level in the team. Bring depth to your field and at the same time move safely across adjacent areas. Like to work closely with product managers and want to understand what problem we are actually solving. You formulate requirements and think from a user and business perspective. Appreciate real agility and like to work in short iterations, learn, gather feedback and make data-informed decisions. Use AI tools in your workflow and further educate yourself out of intrinsic motivation, simply because you enjoy growing professionally and personally. Are willing to tackle complex problems and have the resilience to see topics through to success. Are a warm-hearted communicator for whom an open learning culture is important, who likes to build personal connections in the team and can laugh at good jokes. We probably don't fit together so well if you: Prefer frameworks like SAFe or projects that start with a specification sheet. Have mostly worked in highly regulated areas without experience in a fast-paced, product-oriented environment. Feel more comfortable in role models where infrastructure, backend, frontend, testing and product thinking are clearly separated. Take over requirements ready-made, instead of sharpening them together with product management and really understanding customers. See further training mainly as the responsibility of the employer and not as something you do out of your own interest, whether "on the job", at an evening event or simply by reading a book.
