Senior ICT System Engineer (Backend Services Communication Services)

What you can contribute

• Design the implementation, integration, and development of backend services for tactical and civil communication solutions on the new digitalization platform (NPD) OpenShift, ensure their secure operation, and automate their deployment, configuration, and testing
• Design and integrate central security services such as key management (COMSEC/TRANSEC), classified content projects (PKI), identity and access management (IAM), and privileged access management (PAM), take responsibility for them throughout their lifecycle, and systematically integrate them into the NPD -- Communication Services system environment
• Develop and integrate components intended for security services and testing, and ensure monitoring, logging, alert management, as well as the continuous optimization of operational and end-to-end processes
• Analyze and resolve malfunctions related to the interaction between platforms and peripheral systems, ensure technical coordination and escalation management with suppliers, as well as plan and implement changes, releases, upgrades, and lifecycle-related activities
• Provide technical supervision to external DevSecOps engineers, structure tasks, review and challenge technical approaches, and establish binding quality standards
• Participate in the SAFe procedure model at the team and ART levels, collaborate closely with the product owner, scrum master, and architect, translate technical requirements into feasible solutions and document them, and implement scripting and automation using tools such as Python and Ansible

What makes you unique

• Training as an IT specialist (CFC/BF/HES), ES technician, or engineer (UNI/EPF/HES) in the field of computer science or telecommunications, with good knowledge in the other field, as well as several years of experience as a senior DevSecOps, platform, or system engineer in complex and security-critical environments
• Very good knowledge of Kubernetes/OpenShift, Linux, container technologies, Git, CI/CD, as well as infrastructure/configuration as code and automation, for example with Ansible, Helm, and Python/Shell
• Broad expertise in IT security (key management/cryptographic services, PKI, IAM/PAM, secrets management, hardening and vulnerability management, and the ability to challenge specialists on a technical level)
• Solid experience in platform operation, as well as in monitoring, logging, alert management, and common OSS ecosystems such as ELK, Zabbix, Grafana, or OpenTelemetry, combined with solid end-to-end troubleshooting skills
• Experience in IT service management and with ServiceNow, as well as in processes related to incidents, problems, changes, configuration, and lifecycle; ease in relations with suppliers and in the integration of manufacturer-specific application services
• Strong technical leadership and communication skills, as well as experience within agile/SAFe organizations; ability to translate requirements regarding architecture, security, and operation into robust and automatable solutions
