Workshop Locksmith / Structural Locksmith (m/f/d) – 100 %

Area of responsibility

For our Special Foundation Engineering department, we are looking for an experienced workshop/structural locksmith for workshop and construction site assignments.

Main tasks

Welding, locksmithing, and metal construction work for special foundation engineering

Manufacture, adaptation, and repair of steel constructions and components

Welding work on drilling rigs, attachment devices, and special foundation engineering equipment

Repair and maintenance of machines, tools, and construction site equipment

Manufacture and repair of drill rods, piping, and steel components

Production of consoles, brackets, frames, and special constructions

Flame cutting, separating, drilling, grinding, and straightening steel

MAG, MIG, WIG/TIG, and manual metal arc welding

Work on sheet pile walls, steel beams, pipe constructions, and anchorages

Support during assembly and disassembly work on special foundation engineering sites

Work according to technical drawings and workshop plans

Independent execution of minor repairs directly on the construction site

Control and maintenance of tools and work equipment

Compliance with occupational safety and quality regulations

Professional requirements

Training as a metalworker, plant and apparatus builder, agricultural machinery mechanic, construction machinery mechanic, locksmith, or comparable qualification

Experience as a workshop/structural locksmith, ideally in special foundation engineering, civil engineering, or the construction machinery sector

Very good welding knowledge

Experience with heavy steel constructions

Experience with construction machinery and special foundation engineering equipment is an advantage

Technical understanding and good spatial awareness

Confident reading of technical drawings

Independent troubleshooting and repair

Willingness for workshop and construction site assignments

Welding certificates

Depending on the materials used and work performed:

EN ISO 9606-1 welder test steel

111 – manual metal arc welding

135 – MAG welding

136 – MAG flux-cored arc welding

141 – WIG/TIG welding

Welding authorization for corresponding material groups and sheet/pipe work

Other valid welder tests depending on operational requirements are an advantage

Occupational safety and machine certificates

Advantageous or required depending on activity for work in special foundation engineering:

PSAgA – Personal protective equipment against falls

Mobile elevating work platform license

Forklift license

Crane/hall crane training according to the type of crane used

Slinger/load slinger training

Training for safe slinging and moving of heavy loads

First aid/emergency assistant training

Occupational safety training for construction sites

Other SUVA-compliant training depending on the area of application

Further requirements

Driver's license Cat. B

Cat. BE is an advantage

Good German skills

Reliable, independent, and safety-conscious way of working

Willingness for construction site assignments

Ideal profile

We are looking for a practice-oriented workshop/structural locksmith with experience in special foundation engineering, who can not only manufacture and weld steel constructions but also independently find solutions for malfunctions and damage to machines and construction site equipment.

The employee should be able to be deployed both in the workshop and directly on special foundation engineering sites and should bring experience in handling heavy components, construction machinery, lifting equipment, and welding work under construction site conditions.
