• Translate texts of all kinds from a wide variety of specialist areas (speeches/lectures of the President of the Confederation / the President of the Confederation, the Federal Councillors, technical and information texts, web texts, decrees, etc.)
• Edit and review texts translated into English
• Contribute to the dissemination of the unified English terminology of the Confederation

What makes you unique

• University degree in translation, linguistics or equivalent training
• Stylistically confident command of British English and familiarity with its regional variations
• Several years of experience in technical translation
• Editorial skill and experience with translation software
• Very good knowledge of two official languages (B2) as well as knowledge of the third official language is an advantage (A2)

The Federal Chancellery - The staff office of the Federal Council

As the staff office of the Federal Council, the Federal Chancellery supports the government in the preparation, implementation, and follow-up of the Federal Council meetings. It manages and coordinates the communication of the Federal Council and develops political planning for the government. It organizes in corpore events of the Federal Council and supports the Federal Presidency. Furthermore, the Federal Chancellery organizes votes and elections at the federal level. It is the contact point for initiative or referendum committees and examines the occurrence of popular initiatives. In addition, the Federal Chancellery supports and coordinates the digital transformation of the federal administration.
