Reinsurance Claims Specialist

Processing of assigned reinsurance claims under the guidance of experienced claims experts and in accordance with AXIS Re claims guidelines, delegation authorities, contractual obligations, and regulatory requirements.

Reviewing claim notifications, claim advices, bordereaux, and supporting documentation to ensure timely and appropriate claims processing.

Assisting in the assessment of coverage, liability, financial exposure, and reporting requirements for assigned claims.

Maintaining complete and accurate claim files as well as associated documentation in the company systems, including SICS, Reinsurance Desktop (RDT) and other claims platforms.

Setting up and monitoring claim reserves in accordance with company guidelines as well as escalating significant developments and risks to management.

Ongoing monitoring of claim developments and identification of significant changes, large losses, coverage issues, claim trends, or new risks requiring special attention.

Professional communication with brokers, cedants, reinsurers, and internal stakeholders regarding claims activities, information requirements, and status updates.

Assisting with claims audits, file reviews, quality assurance measures, as well as regulatory compliance activities.

Contributing to management reports, claims analyses, portfolio assessments, and data validation processes.

Building and maintaining productive working relationships with internal partners from the areas of underwriting, actuarial, finance, legal, and operations.

Supporting operational improvement measures to increase efficiency in claims processing as well as the quality of reporting and data management.

Contributing to the creation, updating, and maintenance of training materials, work instructions, process documentation, and knowledge bases.

Continuous expansion of specialist knowledge regarding reinsurance contracts, claims processes, and industry standards through training and practical experience.

Assisting in the use of reporting tools, data analyses, automation solutions, and new technologies to optimize workflows and business processes.

Representing AXIS Re Claims in cross-functional initiatives as well as in global Casualty working groups as required.

Collaborating with international teams as well as promoting the exchange of knowledge, best practices, and experience within the worldwide AXIS Re Claims organization.

Identification and support of operational and digital optimization initiatives to further improve efficiency in reinsurance claims processing.
