Research Associate Heat Pumps & Building Technology

The Institut für Energiesysteme (IES) in Buchs SG deals with current issues surrounding energy systems and heat pumps. To maintain and further develop our key areas of focus, building technology and quality assurance in the context of heat pumps, we are looking for, immediately or by arrangement: Research Associate Heat Pumps & Building Technology (50-100%). You will work on demanding issues surrounding heat pumps, building technology and quality assurance and contribute your expertise to application-oriented research projects. ###

Your field of activity

• You will carry out research projects in the field of heat pumps, building technology and quality assurance largely independently - experimentally, conceptually or simulation-based.
• You will lead smaller projects and support project acquisition in the mentioned subject areas.
• You will prepare expert opinions and reports and participate in scientific publications.
• You will maintain the network with relevant partners such as EnergieSchweiz, BFE, FWS as well as manufacturers and planners.
• You will supervise students with thematically relevant Bachelor's and semester theses.
• You will support laboratory organization as well as the supervision of the infrastructure.

Your expertise

• At least Bachelor of Science, preferably a Master's degree and several years of direct topic-specific professional experience.
• Deep understanding of heat pump and refrigeration technology; relevant professional experience is desirable, but not mandatory.
• You work on analytical and conceptual problems independently and have good personal discretionary power.
• High motivation and determination, pragmatic way of working and a strong awareness of quality.
• Independent way of working, good teamwork skills and good German skills.
