Senior Fundraising Coordinator (30-40%)

The Swiss Academy for Development (SA4D) is a non-profit organization founded in 1991. We use sport and play to enable children and young people internationally and in Switzerland to develop their skills and become active and engaged members of their communities. Through our projects, we contribute to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the areas of health, education, and employment, as well as social cohesion and the environment. We are based in Biel/Bienne and are ZEWO-certified (Swiss seal of approval for non-profit organizations).

With immediate effect or by arrangement, we are looking for a:

SENIOR FUNDRAISING COORDINATOR (30-40%)

Your tasks:

In close cooperation with the SA4D project managers, your area of responsibility includes, among others, the following tasks:

• Coordination of SA4D's fundraising activities, including the identification and follow-up of suitable funding partners, as well as the establishment of new contacts and the maintenance of existing relationships with foundations, public authorities, and other donors.
• Further development and optimization of the fundraising strategy, instruments, and processes of SA4D, as well as support for fundraising campaigns in cooperation with communications.
• Maintenance and further development of the fundraising database, tracking of funding opportunities and deadlines, as well as supporting reliable fundraising planning and follow-up.
• Representation of SA4D at relevant foundation events, symposia, and networking events, advising colleagues on fundraising matters, and undertaking further tasks as required.
• Soliciting funds for SA4D projects and mandates with a particular focus on institutional fundraising.

What you bring with you:

• A relevant education in fundraising, communications, international cooperation, business administration, or a related field, or an equivalent professional qualification.
• Several years of proven professional experience in fundraising as well as good knowledge of the Swiss fundraising landscape with a clear focus on institutional fundraising. Please attach a selection of your fundraising successes to your application.
• The ability to build and maintain trusting and long-term relationships with foundations, public authorities, and other funding partners.
• A strong network to funding institutions, experience in project management or in international cooperation and/or a high affinity for SA4D's development-oriented use of sport and play are an advantage, but not a requirement.
• Strong editorial skills, a good sense of design, analytical thinking skills, and a consistent commitment to quality.
• Very good German and English skills. Good French skills are an advantage.
• Experience in using CRM or fundraising database systems, especially Salesforce, is an advantage.
• A proactive, entrepreneurial, and result-oriented way of working as well as the ability to work both independently and in a team.
