We will train you to become a firefighting professional! You will learn the practical know-how at the professional fire department in the city of Zürich and at the airport; theoretical specialist knowledge will be imparted to you at the Höhere Fachschule für Rettungsberufe. We do not offer you a job off the shelf, but rather professions with meaning and responsibility for society and the environment. Schutz & Rettung Zürich, as a service department of the Sicherheitsdepartement, unites the professional and militia fire departments, the medical services, as well as the emergency dispatch center for the emergency numbers 118 and 144. Tasks ##

• As part of this dual education, we will train you to be a firefighting professional
• You will receive the practical know-how in our professional fire department in the city of Zürich as well as at the airport
• Theoretical specialist knowledge will be imparted to you at the Höhere Fachschule für Rettungsberufe by experienced lecturers

Profile ##

• Completed training (federal certificate of competency EFZ or Matura)
• Driver's license category B (category C at the start of training)
• Solid physical and mental health
• An ideal height of 164-194 cm
• Ideal age of 23-35 years

Schutz & Rettung, as a service department of the Sicherheitsdepartements, unites the professional and militia fire departments, the medical services, as well as the emergency dispatch center (ELZ) for the emergency numbers 144 and 118. Furthermore, civil protection, fire police, and a training center with an attached Höhere Fachschule für Rettungsberufe belong to the largest rescue organization in Switzerland. Intervention and prevention units protect and rescue people, animals, assets, and the environment around the clock in the city of Zürich, at the airport Zürich, and in the agglomeration.
