As an independent company under public law, the Gebäudeversicherung des Kantons Schaffhausen insures buildings located in the Canton of Schaffhausen and offers comprehensive coverage for fire and natural hazard damage. It provides information on sums insured to owners and official bodies, advises property owners on prevention matters, and is responsible for premium collection and management as well as the management of invested assets. Furthermore, the Kantonale Feuerpolizei is affiliated with the Gebäudeversicherung, meaning its tasks also fall within the responsibility of the Gebäudeversicherung.

What awaits you ##

• Overall responsibility for the operational, personnel, and strategic leadership of the Gebäudeversicherung Schaffhausen (GVSH) as well as the Kantonale Feuerpolizei
• Responsibility for strategy, financial planning, budgeting, as well as business and accountability reports
• Leadership and development of employees as well as promotion of a goal-oriented and service-oriented corporate culture
• Management and support of projects in the areas of legislation, digitalization, organizational development, and risk management
• Advising and supporting the administration commission as well as cooperation with cantonal bodies, municipalities, specialist organizations, and external partners
• Further development of the organization, processes, and services taking into account legal, technological, and social developments
• Representation of the GVSH and the Kantonale Feuerpolizei towards authorities, specialist committees, and the public
• Responsibility for selected damage cases as well as participation in legal remedy proceedings

What you bring with you ##

• Higher business administration education;
• Additional legal training is an advantage
• Several years of leadership experience in a comparable environment, preferably in the public law or insurance-related sector
• Sound knowledge of insurance and liability law, as well as ideally public law
• Experience in organizational development, project management, and strategic corporate management
• Strong analytical and networked thinking skills as well as a structured and solution-oriented way of working
• High communication and social competence as well as confident expressive ability in speech and writing
• Sensitivity to political processes and different stakeholder groups
• Interest in issues surrounding insurance, construction, security, and risk management
• Confident appearance, negotiation skills, and enjoyment of a responsible leadership task
