This position is aimed at both psychologists and assistant doctors who are interested in further training with a focus on forensic psychiatry and psychotherapy and wish to further develop their professional skills in a specialized forensic environment.

Your tasks

• You actively accompany patients in the treatment process, carry out psychiatric and psychotherapeutic assessments as well as therapies under guidance, and support diagnostics and individual treatment planning.
• In interdisciplinary exchange with psychology, medicine, nursing, and social work, you participate in holistic and milieu-therapeutic care of the patients.
• With a resource-oriented and individual treatment approach, you consider personal needs as well as offense-specific aspects and support the development of safe and practical everyday strategies.
• You lead group therapies and actively contribute your ideas and professional impulses to the further development of the therapeutic offering.
• Within the framework of forensic treatment and the associated security requirements, you participate in risk assessments and make an important contribution to the safety of the patients and the treatment team.

Your profile

• You have a completed degree in psychology and have already been able to gain professional experience in forensics.
• Your psychotherapy training is already advanced and you wish to further deepen your professional knowledge in the psychiatric psychotherapeutic environment.
• You already meet the requirements for a practice permit as an assistant psychologist in the Canton of St.Gallen or can meet them before starting the position.
• A respectful, unbiased, and professional manner with patients as well as reliable cooperation with internal and external specialists characterize your way of working.
• You handle the special structures and framework conditions of the measures enforcement (Massnahmenvollzug) with confidence and maintain a professional and reflective attitude even in demanding situations.
• High commitment, initiative, and very good German skills in speaking and writing at least at level C1 round off your profile and enable you to communicate securely in everyday clinical life.

The contract

In the following days, we will send you the contract in duplicate by mail. With the contract, you will also receive relevant information regarding your employment.
Preboarding

Between the acceptance of the position and the first working day, as a new employee, you can already access relevant internal information. This allows you to form a differentiated picture of the company and prepare yourself for the job.
First working day

On the first day, onboarding awaits you in your new team and with other colleagues. You will settle into your new workplace and get an overview of your next tasks. You will also receive your individual induction plan, which will help you to find your way around quickly.
