Category Manager (CAPEX, GMP)

Job description:

• Responsibility for operational and tactical purchasing activities for technical goods and services
• Procurement of capital goods as well as mechanical and electromechanical components
• Creation, structuring, and execution of tenders (RFQ/RFP) through to supplier selection
• Identification, evaluation, and development of suitable suppliers, particularly in the Swiss and German markets
• Close cooperation with internal specialist departments to capture technical requirements and develop suitable procurement strategies
• Proactive support and advice to internal stakeholders throughout the entire procurement process
• Execution of commercial evaluations and negotiations with suppliers
• Support in the creation and evaluation of contracts and commercial terms
• Independent processing of purchasing topics in a complex and non-standardized project environment
• Contribution of pragmatic solutions for the continuous improvement of purchasing processes and supplier relationships

About the customer:

Our customer is an established Swiss company in a technically demanding and regulated industrial environment. For a significant long-term project, we are looking for an experienced buyer to strengthen the team.

Requirements:

• At least 5 years of experience in operational or tactical purchasing
• Experience with mechanical or electromechanical components
• Good technical understanding
• Experience with RFQs/RFPs and supplier management
• Good understanding of contracts and commercial terms
• Technical training; further training in purchasing or business administration is an advantage
• Business fluent German skills
• Proactive, pragmatic, and independent way of working
• Willingness to work predominantly on-site
