The Institute for Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine (IFA) of the Universitätsspital Zürich (USZ) provides more than 30'000 services annually in outpatient and inpatient anesthesiology, in-hospital and out-of-hospital emergency medicine, as well as in acute and chronic pain medicine. Within the framework of highly specialized medicine, the USZ has service mandates for all transplantations as well as for the treatment of severely burned and multi-traumatized patients. A large part of our medical staff is in training to become specialists in anesthesiology. The IFA is a category A1 training center. Your main tasks

• Independent anesthesiological care of patients of all age groups and medical disciplines throughout the entire university care spectrum
• Anesthesiological care of complex patients as well as demanding procedures in highly specialized medicine (HSM)
• Independent implementation and professional co-design of pediatric anesthesiology in the university environment
• Participation in shift and on-call duty
• Assumption of leadership, organizational, and coordination tasks
• Active co-design and further development of medical training, patient care, quality assurance, research, and teaching
• Instruction, supervision, training, and mentoring of resident and senior physicians

Your profile

Professional qualification

• Specialist title in Anesthesiology (FMH or equivalent), dissertation
• Several years of senior physician clinical experience at a university hospital or a maximum care hospital
• Broad clinical expertise and proven ability to cover the entire university spectrum of anesthesiological care independently and at a high professional level
• Sound experience in the anesthesiological care of complex patients as well as in highly specialized medicine (HSM)
• Proven expertise in pediatric anesthesiology with secure independent clinical activity
• Experience in the supervision, instruction, and professional development of medical staff

Advantageous

• Habilitation, proven scientific activity and/or MBA
• Experience in the further development of clinical standards, treatment concepts, or quality projects in university anesthesiology
