Coordinator «Meet'n'Speak» and Tandem Program «come together» (80%)

The tandem program «come together» is one of seven offerings from the Migration department. Volunteers accompany adults and support them in networking, building social contacts, and finding access to social services in the districts of Andelfingen and Winterthur. «Meet'n'Speak» is an offering for children, adolescents, and young adults with little knowledge of German, who can apply their language skills in everyday life and forge new relationships in a language meetup or a tandem with volunteers. This also includes the food meetup «stir it up», where a group of volunteers and young people cook together. For the coordination of these impactful offerings, we are looking for a communicative, independent, and implementation-strong personality with joy in working with volunteers.

Your field of activity

• Conduct clarification interviews with interested volunteers and participants, coordinate the matching of volunteers and participants, and accompany initial meetings
• Recruit, professionally support, personnel-manage, and accompany volunteers in their engagement
• Plan, organize, and implement the group meetup for children in Winterthur as well as the food meetup «stir it up»
• Organize and implement information, induction, and exchange events for volunteers as well as group events for program participants
• Maintain cooperation with municipalities, specialist offices, and other network partners, and make the offerings visible through networking and public relations work
• Ensure careful administration, dossier management, and data entry

What you bring with you

• Completed education in social sciences (FH/UH), social pedagogy, socio-cultural animation (HF level), adult education (Eidg. FA Ausbilderin/Ausbilder), or a comparable qualification
• Experience in working with volunteers as well as joy in accompanying, motivating, and networking people
• Some years of professional experience in a transcultural environment
• High level of independence, organizational talent, and the ability to coordinate several projects and activities simultaneously and maintain an overview
• Strong social, communication, and advisory competence as well as a confident and appreciative demeanor towards a wide variety of stakeholder groups
• Resource-oriented attitude and capacity for reflection
• Joy in bringing people together during communal activities, and interest in the topics of nutrition, cooking, and encounter
• Readiness for occasional assignments in the early evening; Tuesday and Wednesday are fixed working days
• Connection to the Winterthur and/or Andelfingen region is an advantage
