Category Management at Digitec Galaxus is responsible for the development, purchasing and marketing of our product ranges in our online shops in Switzerland and Europe. We establish a well-available, broad and brand-current assortment with market-based prices and always keep the customer in focus. The Category Business Management Platform develops new solutions together with the Product Owners and Engineering teams for the subject areas Pricing, Purchasing and Merchandising. As a Business Engineer Purchasing, you act as a central interface between Business, Product Development (IT) and the warehouse. Together with the relevant stakeholders, you develop clever tools, systems and processes to further optimize automated or strategic purchasing. You ensure that further development and automation in purchasing interplay efficiently with commercial requirements and can be successfully used in Category Management. Business Engineer - Purchasing (w/m/d) Your tasks You record business requirements for optimization, innovation and development surrounding strategic purchasing, question them, structure and cluster them into individual projects You carry out evaluations, researches and concept analyses regarding purchasing and provide recommendations for further developments and the use of existing tools You drive the roadmap and innovation projects of purchasing from the business side and prioritize them in coordination with the Head of Platform and the Product Owner You develop reportings together with Data Scientists to enable simple monitoring and controlling of the entire purchasing process Through the optimization of working methods and available tools in Purchasing, you contribute to reducing financial inventory risk, using warehouse capacities efficiently and increasing the overall profitability of the value chain You ensure the interface between Engineering teams and Category Management in the subject area for which you are responsible You train our Category Business Managers, offer support with questions and ensure seamless KnowHow documentation You ensure stakeholder management and the involvement of entitled interest groups and convince through clear communication and expertise in your field You promote the exchange of knowledge among the Business Engineers even beyond your own areas of responsibility Your skills For this varied and demanding position, you have gathered more than five years of relevant professional experience as a Business Engineer, Product Owner, E-Commerce Category Manager or in similar positions You bring a Bachelor or Master in Business Informatics, Business Administration or a similar field of study and possess very good German and English skills You possess quick comprehension, very strong analytical skills and work intensively with tools such as Excel, AI or Tableau.
