Head of IT Law and Data Protection (m/f/d)

We are looking for a Head of IT Law and Data Protection (m/f/d) as of 1 January 2027 or by arrangement * You lead complex legislative projects within the framework of the digitalization of the canton and its municipalities, for electronic administrative procedures, or in the field of Artificial Intelligence. * You lead the specialist department IT Law and Data Protection (consisting of yourself and one IT law and data protection lawyer). * You participate in strategic project committees at the cantonal and federal levels, in the areas of Artificial Intelligence and data management. * You prepare statements on political matters in the field of IT law and data protection. * You advise and support eGovernment digital., the departments, and the State Chancellery on legal issues regarding digitalization projects (legal basis analyses, protection requirement analyses, data protection impact assessments, contract management, directives, and ISDS concepts). * You bear the professional responsibility for revisions of the cantonal data protection law. * You steer the further development of the specialist department IT Law and Data Protection and network with the relevant stakeholders from the Confederation, cantons, and municipalities. * Completed legal education (Master's), bar admission, or doctorate is an advantage * Several years of professional experience with a focus on digitalization issues in state and administrative law and/or data protection law * Experience in the field of legislation is desirable * Very structured, precise, and independent way of working * Very good digital competencies and affinity for technical issues * Proficient German, French language skills are an advantage * Confident handling of different actors and stakeholders as well as interest in political processes and procedures * A versatile and responsible activity and the opportunity to actively participate in the digital transformation of the public sector * Cooperation in a dedicated team with broad stakeholders at cantonal, municipal, and national levels * Modern working time models and attractive further training opportunities * Workplace in the government building in the Old Town of [Recht und Legistik |](< >) Dr. Jan Scheffler, Vice State Secretary, or j4id10396693a j4it0938a j4iy26a
