Driven by a human, holistic approach based on best medical practices, it offers reference care in many specialties (cardiology, gastroenterology, pneumology, angiology and nephrology), with 24/7 availability. Within this department, the [Service des maladies infectieuses](< >) aims to reconcile a clinical activity meeting the needs of a university hospital and an academic activity of research and teaching with the Faculty of Medicine. It ensures the diagnostic and therapeutic management of patients suffering from infectious pathologies, including HIV/AIDS. It relies on a medical team specialized in infectiology and microbiology and develops its activities in close connection with many hospital partners to guarantee multidisciplinary and high-quality care. This position is newly created and is part of the ALTER deployment which aims to ensure the compliance of work organization with the Labor Act (LTr). Chief Resident in Infectious Diseases -- 50% to 100% As a chief resident, you have obtained your specialist title in infectiology or are about to finalize your training. In this function, you ensure all clinical activities of the service and evolve in a stimulating university environment, at the interface of care, teaching and research. Thanks to your clinical expertise and your ability to adapt, you intervene in the following sectors and units of the service: the general infectiology consultation, the outpatient infectiology consultation, septic orthopedics, HIV, geriatric infectiology, as well as infectiology for immunocompromised patients. Under the supervision of an assistant physician, you autonomously ensure the evaluation, diagnosis and follow-up of often complex clinical situations, while providing specialized support to the medical-nursing teams. You mobilize your clinical sense, your analytical spirit and your decision-making capacity in order to guarantee quality care, based on best medical practices. Thanks to your sense of organization and your ability to manage priorities, you efficiently conduct your clinical activities while responding to the many requests related to your function (patients, telephones, correspondence, meetings). You ensure compliance with institutional procedures and actively contribute to the continuous improvement of quality and safety of care. Faced with demanding situations and the diversity of problems encountered, you demonstrate discernment, resilience and excellent stress management. Your intellectual curiosity and your interest in the evolution of medical knowledge allow you to maintain a high level of expertise. Evolving within a multidisciplinary team, you collaborate closely with the different services, as well as the professionals of the institution in a coordinated approach centered on the needs of patients. You maintain constructive working relationships and promote clear, respectful and adapted communication with your colleagues, the persons being cared for and their relatives. Relying on your team spirit, you demonstrate solidarity in the face of unforeseen events. As a chief resident, you actively participate in the supervision and training of the service's internal doctors, adopting a mentoring posture and sharing your expertise. Furthermore, you have the possibility to participate in ongoing research projects within the service. Qualifications You hold a federal medical diploma or possess a diploma deemed equivalent by the Commission des professions médicales (MEBEKO). You hold the FMH title in infectiology or have a title deemed equivalent recognized by MEBEKO or are about to obtain it. You possess the cantonal right of practice or are able to obtain it before your entry into service from the cantonal physician of the canton of Geneva. You benefit from at least three years of experience in internal medicine as well as three years of versatile clinical activity in the field of infectious diseases. You perfectly master the French language (minimum C1 level required) and possess excellent oral and written communication skills. Possessing excellent skills to communicate in a multidisciplinary team and with patients, you are a dynamic, flexible and committed person. Moreover, you have demonstrated strong adaptation capacities.
