Department Head for Retail and Social Professions, 80 - 100% # As a result of retirement, a department head position will become vacant with us for the 2027/28 school year. At the Berufsfachschule Winterthur, around 200 teachers teach approximately 3800 learners. The school trains specialists for retail professions (EFZ and EBA), specialists in care (FaBe), assistants in health & social care (AGS) as well as learners in pre-apprenticeship. For the 2027/28 school year, we are looking for you as a leader and department head, to continue to cultivate and develop our culture of appreciation, care, and openness together with you. Together with the school management and in close cooperation with the convent board, the specialist groups, teachers, and employees, you will shape the quality of teaching and the future of the school as a department head. You contribute a large part to the further development and culture of the overall school and take responsibility for it. You recruit new teachers and lead and advise them. You are the contact person for learners, vocational training coordinators, parents, and professional associations and are co-responsible for class and lesson planning, teaching assessment of teachers, and are responsible for specialist and working groups. Your characteristics include the ability to listen and the joy of taking on responsibility. You are honest, committed, diversely interested, work very carefully and goal-oriented. You enjoy working in a team and are interested in complementing the existing team with your own strengths and with creativity.   If you are familiar with our professional fields and/or bring advanced training in teaching development, positive leadership or communication, then these are certainly additional good prerequisites for this varied and exciting activity.  The teaching obligation is 8-10 lessons per week, therefore a teaching diploma for our school level is mandatory. Employment takes place according to the cantonal Mittelschul- und Berufsschullehrerverordnung.
