Senior Project Manager Telecommunications & Network Infrastructure (m/f/d)

Job Description ###

For a strategically significant transformation program in the field of telecommunications and data networks, we are looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager. In this key role, you will be responsible for several interconnected projects and delivery streams, ensuring the successful implementation of complex network and system landscapes in a demanding enterprise environment. This is a long-term project with an option for extension (80% to 100%).

Tasks

• Management, planning, and steering of several related projects and sub-projects within a large infrastructure and transformation program
• Planning, procurement, and introduction of systems, applications, hardware, as well as external services
• Ensuring the technical integration of network, platform, management, and peripheral systems
• Responsibility for project goals, deadlines, budget, forecast, quality, and risk management
• Steering interdisciplinary teams as well as the coordination of internal departments, suppliers, and technology partners
• Ensuring structured requirements management (Requirements Engineering)
• Active management of technical and organizational dependencies as well as complex stakeholder landscapes
• Close cooperation with architecture, development, engineering, and operations teams
• Development of sound decision-making bases for management and steering committees
• Collaboration in the further development of modern network, service, and automation solutions

Requirements

• Several years of experience in managing complex telecommunications, network, or infrastructure projects in a large enterprise environment
• Experience in carrier, service provider, enterprise networking, or comparable infrastructure environments
• Demonstrable experience in managing several parallel projects as well as external suppliers and technology partners
• Sound knowledge of classical project management as well as interaction with agile or hybrid procedural models
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management competencies
• High level of personal responsibility, assertiveness, and a structured way of working
• Experience in demanding technical transformation and migration projects
• Business-fluent German and very good English skills

Advantageous

• University degree in telecommunications, computer science, systems engineering, or a comparable field
• Project management certification at a senior level (e.g., IPMA Level B, PMP, or comparable)
• Experience with SAFe or scaled agile organizations
• Knowledge of modern data network architectures, backbone technologies, and network automation
• Experience with Network Management Systems and orchestration platforms
• Experience in mission-critical or regulated infrastructure environments
• French language skills
