The JVA Hindelbank is the only correctional institution for women in German-speaking Switzerland. It serves the execution of sentences and measures with women in the closed and open sectors. 107 places are available. The admitted women live within the institution in residential groups and work on weekdays in various work areas. The time in the JVA Hindelbank serves the admitted women to create prerequisites for reintegration into society, in order to lead their lives responsibly and without crime after release.

Your tasks

• You share responsibility for continuous security of staff, admitted women, visitors and the public in 24-hour operation
• You are responsible for conducting person, presence, object and narcotic controls
• You are responsible for digital surveillance and control at the security control center (emergency center)
• You carry out crisis interventions and processing of telephone calls, inquiries and coordination tasks
• You report incidents and events
• You are prepared for two weekend services and on-call duties per month

Your profile

• Due to the control tasks associated with the function regarding female inmates, it is necessary for this position to be filled by a woman
• You have a completed vocational apprenticeship
• You are at least 25 years old
• You have professional experience in the security sector
• You have sound (security) specialist knowledge and pronounced digital skills
• You can communicate in German with stylistic confidence, as well as in French with business proficiency, both orally and in writing
• You possess high social competence, flexibility and team spirit
• You possess a CH driver's license of Cat. B and mobility
• You can guarantee availability for on-call duties within 60 minutes

About the Amt für Justizvollzug

The Amt für Justizvollzug (AJV) is responsible for the open and closed execution of sentences and measures for adults and young people with around 1000 employees within the Sicherheitsdirektion of the Canton of Bern (SID). To fulfill this task, the office has four concordat correctional institutions, four regional prisons, the guarding station at the Inselspital, the detention management center as well as probation and execution services at its disposal.
